Mala beads are small and placing a seed bead inbetween them can provide a welcome gap for the fingers.  These beads can bring a sparkle to your design or create an interest contract with gemstones.  
 
Our prefers is the12/0 Seed Beads, however, going wiht the 8/0 may provide the extra space, and length that you desire.
